Does the huge Music Mixer Surface confuse you too ? What are all these buttons for ?

I’m a musician. But for all the mixing and mastering I get the help of a pro studio and pay them a lot of my earned money. I do use other hardware for music but the mixing surface is just so overwhelmingly huge that even thinking of using it is a headache for me ! Can somebody tell me how come there are So Many buttons there ? Are they all used frequently and regularly ? Whats the science behind this all. Please a nice answer, I’m utterly confused ! Can you do this stuff with a software ?

Software can do most anything recording hardware can do. In some instances it’s better, it has an undo. Most modern recording has some software involved. Although sometimes hardware is preferred for a particular sound, especially old analog gear.

Practice, it can take a little while to get accustomed to all the features of a mixing console. Basically you are looking at EQ settings and effects returns for each channel. This is so that each channel can be equalized or processed separately from one another.

i need a music software to use iit for my band it shud have good synthesizing capabilities, sequencers and mixers. Anything except reason.

Acoustica works well if your a beginner up to an intermediate level, I think that if you want a better program though you could buy something like Sony Acid

Music creation software thats profesional but still fairly easy to learn how to use?

I just bought some mics, a mixer, and an interface, but the software that came with it is shit. Does anyone know a pretty good but fairly simple to use music creation program. Money is not an object.

You can’t beat the price of Audacity or WavePad – their completely free!

If you want something a little more advanced check out Adobe Audition, Fruity Loops or Sony Acid Music Studio. If you have a MAC – GarageBand is pretty cool software.
