I am new to the use of a music mixer and am unfamiliar with terminology or resources. I am looking for websites and/or any gracious wisdom on the subject.

I know that a music mixer offers the control of volume and distortion to individual channels. Am I on the right track?

Question Details: I what to purchase the a mixer for karoke but i don’t know which mixer i should purchase.

what should i Purchase the live music mixer or the Karaoke Mixer?

I would definitely buy the Karaoke mixer if you plan on using it for Karaoke. A "live music" mixer is more of a general use mixer used for mixing a band or music group. A "live music" mixer may not have all the features you want and it may be way more complicated than you need for Karaoke.

I just use Roxio. But there are others but you have to pay. The one guy that went to prison, that guy that discovered the Backstreet Boys, his music mixer kit is now $10 everywhere and there is lots of great software in there for mixing. Decent stuff, too.

Obviously he can’t sell his wares any longer so, they are clearing them out. I think it is called, "Making the Music" package. You get a microphone (nice one) and nice mixer software. I got mine for $5. It’s worth around, $50. Good luck.
