Dude, you don’t know anything about mastering or plugins. You should be more constructive and less critical. The Waves C4 can be used for either. It is one of the BEST 4 Band compressors out there for mastering.

stereo bus compression yea, stereo but limiter also.
But a C4 where you compress every single region individually means your levels in your mix aren’t proper.
Think about it. I know what I’m talking about because i have been to TONS of mastering sessions and when I ask about the C4…that is always the answer. I have yet to meet a mastering engineer that says otherwise.

yea, thats why all the professional albums and songs are mixed using some sort of compression. Please think about what you’re talking about before writing it down here…..

using the C4 usually means that the mix is not good enough…

taking sound advise from a guy with DJ in his name is a bit fishy. Plugins are used for whatever you get the best performance in. They might be intended for vocals or used that the most, but that doesnt mena you cant master compress with them…..
